"A faint grin spread on Llyr’s muzzle after Amniese left. The grin didn’t linger. In the wake of her departure the study felt even colder than before. The empty teacup still sat at her chair. He wished he was human so he could sit on the empty cushion and feel her warmth. Then again, if he were human he wouldn’t need her secondhand warmth. He would hold her in his arms.
Arms. Llyr had forgotten what those felt like.
How long had he been stuck on all fours? He didn’t want to do the math, it wasn’t worth getting depressed over."

When Amniese first meets Llyr he is imprisoned in the body of a unicorn, sealed by powerful magics that no longer exist in Shilon. Though Llyr has lived hundreds of years in his preserved form, he still remembers what it was like to be human. The closer he gets to Amniese, the more he longs for his former self, even if it means facing the ghosts of his past.

Llyr and Amniese
I just love these two. I took several pictures of Amniese laying on the floor with a couple other dolls before deciding Llyr needed to be next to her. As soon as I placed them together, Amniese just blossomed. It was like she came alive in front of the camera because Llyr was nearby. This happens to be my favorite photo from that shoot. I wasn't sure which angle I wanted to upload it, but decided this was best. Amniese is the center of Llyr's world, afterall.
